The studio’s history dates back to 2018 and has quite a fancy presentation story. It was presented at the Cannes Films Festival. The United Kingdom-based movie producer Sean O’Kelly was among the initiators of the startup, along with Richard Clarke.
This is a privately held company with less than fifty employees on staff initially, but as of 2019, along with the acquisition of The Games Company, the team expanded.
The essence of SkyRocket Entertainment software developer is in taking some of the most iconic movies stories and adapting them to the reels. From this perspective, acquiring The Games Company was a logical move. The studio already has a network of partnerships, as well as a portfolio of games and a process set into a working production scheme.
“We’re incredibly excited by our acquisition of The Games Company, which represents a major milestone for Skyrocket. TGC has a proven track record for developing and rolling out online games – it also has a pipeline of new integration opportunities and partnerships with online gaming operators, so it’s primed to expand recurring revenue.” is what Sean O’Kelly said about the acquisition.
Then, the news about the first branded movie adaptation broke. In order to deliver a reeled version of The Expendables Megaways, the reviewed developer partnered with Stake Logic. Stephan van den Oetelaar, CEO of Stakelogic, said: “We are excited to enhance our game portfolio with our first series of branded slots. We have secured some of the biggest brands in the movie world which simply would not have been possible without partnering with Skyrocket. We have some incredible things planned for these brands and look forward to launching Expendables Megaways next month.”
