Gambling events are an essential part of the industry’s development and its innovation. No wonder, plenty of them happen all year round. Gambling award ceremonies recognize the biggest achievements and show direction for upcoming trends, while conferences contribute to the improvements, innovation, and reformation of gambling. The end of spring has both variants to offer to those willing to track the industry’s evolution: Baltic and Scandinavian Gaming Awards await us in June, while the 2024 Gaming in Spain Conference is planned in May.
BALTIC AND SCANDINAVIAN GAMING AWARDS
Those involved in the production of games and their supply to players are certainly on the edge of their seats before the upcoming Baltic and Scandinavian Gaming Awards that will take place on June 4th.
There is still some time before the event evening when all the winners will be announced, and those thrilled about gambling and particular providers can influence the final results this year, as the organizer of the event (Hipther) has an online voting running until April 26th!
The online voting stage follows the selection and announcement of nominees that was finished on March 15, 2024. Currently, awards are distributed in 5 major categories, namely Operator Categories, B2B Sports Betting Categories, B2B Casino Categories, B2B eSports & Fantasy Sports Categories, Payments & Certifications. In total 12 best companies will be recognized with awards for their contribution to gambling industry in the Baltics and Scandinavia.
If you decide to cast a vote, you would need to select a winner in each category and decide what company is the best casino or sportsbook, the best esports/live casino/slots/payment service provider of the year, a rising star in online casino technology/sports betting technology etc.
Please note that your votes can be submitted once per day, as the system refreshes every 24 hours.
2024 GAMING IN SPAIN CONFERENCE
In April, the Spanish Supreme Court announced the verdict in a suit of the trade association Jdigital against the Royal Decree, which places the Spanish gambling industry in flux with several advertising restrictions.
This ruling will be the main topic of the 2024 Gaming in Spain Conference that will be held in the heart of Madrid on May 6th. Even though advertising restrictions are the central discussion topic during the event, some other essential matters will be discussed as well, namely:
- Deposit limits across operators that should be introduced in 2025.
- Gambling detection mechanism that will be administrated by the national regulator.
- New live casino products and how strict their regulation will be.
Moreover, there will be short break-out sessions on compliance, KYC best practices, e-money, and smart training solutions. Those useful sessions will also help the industry to enhance gambling for Spanish players.
A lot of industry experts will participate in the conference, including Spain’s leading gambling lawyer, Santiago Asensi, MGA Games General Manager Jose Giacomelli, EGBA Secretary General Maarten Haijer, R Franco Digital and Operations Director Javier Sacristan Franco.
Spain is not the only gambling market that is preparing to implement major changes in the gambling industry. You can also read more about the plans of national regulators in the United Kingdom and Australia.
