PAGCOR Donates over P571 Million to 8 Provinces in the Philippines

Nowadays the gaming industry seems to not only entertain players who seek enjoyable leisure and exciting memories, but this sphere of business has also decided to contribute to the common good. Thus, more and more companies decide to donate money to charity or projects with the aim to improve the standard of living or save the environment. The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) is among such companies.

PAGCOR has recently provided P571 million for grants that are to improve public places in eight different provinces in the Philippines. Donations from this company should be distributed among the provinces of Pampanga, Bataan, Zambales, Nueva Ecija, Aurora, Ilocos Norte, Masbate, and Leyte.

According to the words of PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Andrea D. Domingo the grants are aimed at the upgrade of hospital equipment and augmentation of the local medical facilities. 

It is not the first time PAGCOR has donated money, such activities have already been done for six years now. During that time The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation infused more than a billion contributions to several health-related governmental initiatives and projects of local medical institutions.

CLIMATE INITIATIVES

Some studios that create casino software do not stay aside from climate issues and launch initiatives to improve the environmental situation. One such software provider is Gamomat that has released the Book of Oasis game in 2022 and presented the ‘Gaming for the Climate’ initiative. 

Book of Oasis became the debut game in this project, and Gamomat claimed that a part of the revenue from that game would be donated to the Healthy Seas organization to help to stop climate degradation. Healthy Seas targets water pollution, including plastic removal and abandoned nets, and conducts educational programs to raise awareness of fishermen and schoolchildren across the globe.
