Classic Movie is Back on the Reels of Highlander Slot by Microgaming
Microgaming software provider has revived a legend on the reels with the Highlander video slot. The studio has signed an agreement with Studiocanal, brokered by Creative Licensing Corporation earlier this year, and now the anticipated slot has finally arrived at casinos that power Microgaming’s content!
“…two Wilds, unique Scatter strokes, and 10 free spins.”
TV and Warfare-themed Highlander is based on the adventure fantasy classic movie from 1986, and it hosts all the favorite characters from the picture and offers an exciting gaming experience due to unique features with high rewards. The film that starred Christopher Lambert and directed by Russell Mulcahy combines different locations and different times, highlighting the adventures of immortal swordsman Connor MacLeod in Scotland and New York.
The plot of the film unfolds on the reels with 243 paylines and adjustable stake, and it is depicted in the background that changes in base and bonus mode. Players can benefit from two Wilds, unique Scatter strokes, and 10 free spins to win up to 102,500 coins.
David Reynolds, Games Publisher at Microgaming, comments: “Highlander™ is an iconic brand, and the game studio have worked tirelessly to create an online slot that pays homage to the 80s movie and its cult classic status. An epic soundtrack composed by our game studio is a great tribute to the brand. The features in the game perfectly represent the movie; the stroke of a sword which turns scatters wild in the base game is characterized by the legendary sword of the clan MacLeod, while Quickening Wilds™ in free spins is an escalating feature that builds the opportunity for players to win big!”
“The game came together exceptionally well. We are immensely pleased with the results and believe fans will love the art, which is a beautiful reflection of the classic film,” says Rand Marlis, CEO of Creative Licensing.
The Highlander video slot was released on December 6th, 2017. It is one of the studio’s many successful 2017 premieres. Thus, Microgaming has recently presented Halloween game, based on the iconic Hollywood horror movie from the 1980s.
