The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has announced a strategic partnership with the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI) to enhance consumer protection and ensure that gambling advertising adheres to the highest standards. This collaboration aims to streamline the complaint process and promote responsible gambling practices.

Under the new partnership, the ASA and GRAI will work together to triage complaints related to gambling advertising in Ireland. GRAI will handle complaints concerning licensed gambling operators, while the ASA will address complaints about other forms of gambling advertising.

This partnership builds upon the ASA's recent collaborations with the Irish Film Classification Office (IFCO) and Coimisiún na Meán, demonstrating the organization's commitment to upholding advertising standards and protecting gambling consumers in Ireland..

Orla Twomey, Chief Executive of the ASA, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "We are delighted to partner with GRAI to safeguard the public, particularly children, from the harms associated with gambling. By joining forces, we will ensure that gambling advertising is legal, decent, honest, and truthful."

Anne-Marie Caulfield, CEO Designate of GRAI, emphasized the importance of protecting the public and promoting a transparent gambling sector. She stated, "Our partnership with the ASA will enable us to address public concerns about gambling advertising promptly and effectively, in line with the Advertising Standards Authority Code."

This collaboration between the ASA and GRAI signifies a significant step forward in safeguarding consumers from harmful gambling advertising and promoting responsible gambling practices in Ireland.
