The Mystery Rush online dice game by Gaming1 is different to other releases you are likely to see at gambling websites. The rules of the game are unlike those found in ‘normal’ online slots. In Mystery Rush, you will need to try and place the columns in a pattern that creates horizontal or diagonal lines with identical symbols. There are some bonus rounds where you can double your winnings, without increasing the stake. So, there is enough to keep traditionalists interested in a game that devise convention – it’s not often you get to say that about a slot game! Are you intrigued? Then, continue reading our full review below to learn everything about this unique title.

Retro-Like Graphics
At first glance the game board for Mystery Rush can seem a little overwhelming, with words, phrases, images and drawings taking up every spare centimeter. When you look at it more closely, however, the logic of the design becomes clear.
The screen is divided into two halves. The top half displays the rules, what the dice generators are and the prizes that can be won. While the bottom half of the screen shows the different reels as the game progresses, as well as the all-important ‘stake’ and ‘start’ icons.
Purple is the dominant color on the screen that makes the game look like it’s straight out of the 80s. It has that disco theme that you do not often see on online casino slot games and websites. It offers that retro feel to it and it works, Gaming1 knew what they were doing in designing this game.
How the Game Works
All the icons in this game are dice, four with a Chinese writing character on them and six with various numbers of dots; each dice bearing a points value. Pressing the start button generates a random set of three dice (and an overall points score) and you must choose where to place this set on the reels/grid. A set can be used several times in a row if you wish, or a new set generated via the start button. The grid will help you out by flashing to indicate the place a set should be added to win some credits.
Ultimately you should aim to place the dice columns into a pattern that creates horizontal or diagonal lines with identical symbols. Few sets of three dice are matching, which is where brain power kicks in - and the best possible, or highest scoring combinations made.
Points translate into prizes on this game and they are displayed on the top of the screen, saving time and confusion for you as you switch between the paytable and screen on other games. The lowest amount of points that wins money is 100 – which you pocket 3 coins from. This goes right up to 1,000 points which wins you 150 coins. In the top right-hand corner displays the amount of points you have as you go along, which totals up the score with the mystery amount – hence the title!
Symbols
- The point value differs from dice to dice. Light Blue, Pink and Green yield 20 points if you can combine them three times correctly.
Red and Dark Blue yield 40 points. If luck is on your side or if you are super handy in this dice game, you manage to get the yellow dice or the white ones with a blue or black mark in a row and you score 60 points. - The dice with the Light Green, Chinese sign on it is a real hunk and earns you 120 points. Immediately a profit! However, if you go for the topper, you can try to place the bonus symbol 3x correctly and then you go straight to the bonus wheel.
- To give you an extra boost, there are also "multipliers". When you form a winning line in three rosters, your points are multiplied by 1.5. If you win in four rosters, the points will double. And if you fill a grid with 9 identical symbols, you will receive 200 extra points.
Bonuses and Additional Winning Possibilities
Your points can be multiplied by a Wheel of Fortune. It will start turning and depending on what it lands on, you could have your winnings increased! If you decide to stake big, say 10 credits per spin, you will have the mystery wheel doubled – so increasing the total even more! This is where the mystery element comes into the game; it’s fun and edge of the seat stuff.
In this dice game there are two bonuses that you can go for. You have the wheel and the box game where you can get Mysteries or score extra points.
The wheel
If you can correctly place the bonus sign three times, you will end up in the bonus round. The points that you turn at the wheel are immediately added to the grid that gave you access to the wheel. If you enter the Mystery box, you will get access to the rush wheel where you can win a lot of Mysteries.
Box game
You can enter the box game if you have scored a minimum of 500 points during 1 game. Make the right choice from ten boxes and win a nice sum of money. Have you found the Mystery box? Then you can spin the Mystery wheel and here you can win many Mysteries.
You can open 1, 2 or 3 boxes depending on the number of points you have scored.
- From 500 points: 1 box
- From 700 points: 2 boxes
- From 1000 points: 3 boxes
