Megaquarium is one of Real Time Gaming or RTG video slots. Founded in 1998, the company is one of the online gaming industries “old dogs” that has managed to survive the numerous challenges that have seen many other companies bow out. The producer’s main success can be attributed to its huge gaming library and the provision of its platform to many operators all over the world.
The gaming giant was among the first to offer multi-player poker and system-wide progressive jackpots. More recently, the studio has continued to flourish due to its willingness to license its games to RTG operators that accept American players. The company offers the biggest US facing casino platform with more than 300 games available in its ever-growing library.

Slot Theme
Megaquarium is set deep underwater revealing the plentiful treasures of the ocean. Symbols are colorful and animated as well as the background is as well. It is like looking at a virtual reality aquarium, where everything is moving and dying to grab your attention. There is an epic soundtrack to match. Quite simply, you will feel as if you are submerged underwater just from looking at your screen due to Realtime Gaming’s amazing graphics.
Paytable Explained
In Megaquarium, you get plenty of space to play in, with five by three reels. You get to play with 50 active lines each round, deciding only on the total amount that will be used for them. It starts at a minimum of just 0.50 and it can go even up to 12.50. The range of a line bet is between 0.01 and 0.25. There are a few customization options such as ‘Game Speed’ which spins the reels faster, an AutoPlay button where the reels are spun automatically and finally the ‘Bet’ button-click on it and the game starts. The Return to the Player Ratio (RTP) is 96.80%.
Special Icons
The Clown Fish is Wild of the game. You get it only on reel two or four, but at least when it is part of a new combination it gets to double the value of the payout. It will not be of any use to you if you need help with one of the bonus symbols. Every other symbol is fair game for it and it can be part of its combo.
There are five Bonus Scatter Icons marked as: “Free Games”, “Extra Games”, “Super Games”, “Bonus Games”, and “Mega Games”.
Regular Symbols
To complement the theme, you will see the following images on the reels.
The Lionfish is the highest paying symbol. Five of them on any payline awards the prize, which equals 5000x your current stake. You can also receive 1000x and 100x for landing four or three of such icons on the screen.
Collecting five Angelfish will bring in 2500x your bet. In order to pocket 250x or 30x, four or three identical symbols must appear on the screen.
If five White Fish are spun onto an active pay line, you will be rewarded 1000x your wager, while if you manage to get four or three such items, you will obtain 100x or 25x respectively.
Hermit Crabs and Lobsters are worth the maximum of 500x for five matching icons. A quartet of these pictograms will bring you 50x whereas a trio — only 15x.
A Treasure Chest and a No Fishing Sign will bring you 200x your stake for five of a kind combination. In order to scoop 25x and 10x, four and three identical characters must appear on the reels.
Urchins and Corals are worth the same and will bring the maximum payout of 200x your bet. The lowest payout of 5x is awarded for three of the same symbols.
Bonuses and Additional Winning Possibilities
What makes Megaquarium quite interesting is its five Scatters.
The “Free Games” logo is the one you want, to trigger the slot’s seven bonus spins. There will be a requirement to have that logo on the reels one and five at the same time though, in order to meet the requirements. This round has doubled payouts for the duration. There is also the “Bonus Games”symbols, added to the first, second and third reels, but only during the seventh bonus spin. If you get those three symbols on all three reels, and during the seventh spin, then the feature is extended.
There are three additional spins offered at this point, where the fifth reel is made up only of Clown Fish Wilds. The last spin (the tenth round by now), will sport additional “Super Games”symbols for the first three reels. Once again, if you get them all to appear, the feature will be extended. On top of that, after each bonus game, you get a random jackpot payout of 2x to 100x your bet.
Now that you got to the Super Games, you will once again have three extra rounds to play. The multiplier goes up to 5x here and will be applied to all wins coming from this point forward. The thirteenth spin of the feature will get “Mega Games” logos to appear on the first three reels. With the three visible during that last round, you will extend the feature again. You also get paid 3x to 200x your bet after each Super Game.
Finally, there are three “Extra Games”, the final stage of this long feature. In it, there are Clown Fish Wilds covering all positions on the last two reels. The third reel gets Extra Game symbols. Rewards of up to 500x your bet are given after each round.
